RTS library rebuild

Hi,

I need to enlarge the _NFILE to 20 (that is a macro in the stdio.h), maybe I need to rebuild the C runtime library?

I can find the lib in the path "\ti\ccsv6\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-arm_5.2.7\lib". there are mklib.exe but I don't know how to use it build my own C library.

any suggestion?

Eric,

Normally CCS will build the library version that you need if you have used the new ccs project wizard to create a project for the correct device.

There was some issue with 5.2.7 on some machines.. with the automatic library build proces. It is not the latest compiler though and I would just suggest upgrading to the latest compiler and letting CCS build the library you need for you.

Otherwise if you need do build it manually - see processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Mklib and for support with mklib you can post on the compiler forum e2e.ti.com/.../

I can not find a newer version than 5.2.7, can you show me a link?
How to let the CCS build the library for me ? if I want to modify the _NFILE to 20 (that is a macro in the stdio.h)

Hi Eric,

I'm going to move this post to the CCS forum.
But you should be able to get the new compilers by doing a check for updates.

5.2.7 is the latest version in its stream, however there are newer versions on a different stream that you can get to by going to menu Help->Install New Software, and choosing Code Generation Tools from the drop-down list, or by going to CCS App Center

If you modify _NFILE in stdio.h, you would need to manually rebuild the library using the process described in this page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Mklib

Just for anyone else who finds this thread, the problem with 5.2.7 mklib failing on some machine has been reported as a bug in the thread Run-time library rtsv7A8_A_le_n_eabi.lib does not build for AM335x. I found the TI ARM compiler 5.2.7 mklib for rtsv7R4_A_be_v3D16_eabi.lib was failing on a Windows 7 PC, with the same error messages as in the referenced thread.

In my case installed v15.12.2.LTS and when changed to v15.12.2.LTS the mklib automatic library build was successful.

In the case of 5.2.7, I found attempting a mklib build manually from a command prompt failed in the same way as an automatic build by the linker.
