Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2538, CCSTUDIO

Hi,

I got these error when using "Check for Update" on CCS version 6.1.1

session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

I tried the advise from link below but did not work.

Is there anything else I should check ? Thanks in advance.

BTY,

I just bought the promotion CCS license (Download only). When does TI send me the code to activate it. I am running the free version as of now. Thanks.

Linh Nguyen.

  • Hi,
Can you please try the following:
Go to Window -> preferences->Install/Update->Available Software sites.
Select "Code Composer Studio Updates". Click the "reload" button on the right hand side.
    Exit out of CCS altogether.
Restart CCS and try your update.
Please let me know if this works for you.
    Thanks
    Danish

  • Hi Linh,

Important: Please post your question about your license in another thread, as it requires other people to answer, and it may get lost in this thread.

It looks like you may be hitting a problem with resolving the download paths. Could you please:
Go to Window -> preferences -> Install/Update -> Available software sites.
    Highlight all the urls
    Click on Export
    Attach the file here.
    Thanks
    Danish
  • Hi Danish,

      Here are the urls.

I just installed the latest 6.2 and did not see any problem when it updates, perhaps the problem lies in urls like you said.

  • Hi,

I don't see any of those updates available on the sites you posted. It's possible that your cache is corrupted.

Could you please do the following:

    Exit CCS

    cd to <installdir>/ccsv6/eclipse/p2

Delete the cache folder under org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core and org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository

Start CCS again. Check for updates.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Danish

  • Hi Danish,

    Still having problems.

When I checked for update this window popped up hiding behind the main window. So it could have been there before I deleted the caches.

Then I let it running until finish. It reminded me of the same error:

An error occurred while downloading software-dl.ti.com/.../content.jar. The cache file C:\ti\ccsv6\eclipse\p2\org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository\cache\downloading\content196599758.jar could not be renamed to C:\ti\ccsv6\eclipse\p2\org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository\cache\downloading\content196599758.jar.

  • I deleted that conten19659978.jar file and that particular error went away. However the original problem came back:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
    session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

  • Hi Linh,

I'm sorry you're having these problems, and unfortunately, I'm unable to reproduce your issue here, the versions that I see are higher than those you're trying to download.

Do you have to work with 6.1.1? CCS has released 6.1.3 and 6.2.0 recently. If possible, I would recommend installing one of these versions (6.2.0 preferably). If you want to install in the same folder, you would need to delete the contents of ccsv6 before installing.

If you have to use 6.1.1, please once again exit out of CCS and delete the cache folders. Restart CCS, change your workspace to something completely new. Exit out of CCS and try again. If this doesn't work, please delete the contents of ccsv6 and reinstall.

    Danish

  • Hi Danish,

No, I don't have to use 6.1.1. That was why I tried to update through its update command and ran into these problems.

I have already switched to 6.2.0 since I got my full license. Thanks for your help.

    Linh Nguyen.
