I have no idea what this means.

  • Bruce,

Are you running CCSv7.0 or CCSv7.1? Do you know what update you were trying to install.

I checked for updates in my CCSv7.1 install and it showed me TI Emulation pack 6.0.579 as being available. I was able to select it and install it ok. I thin this is likely the update that you were attempting to install.

I have see this issue in different scenarios:
    1) for some reason the PC was not able to access the update site
    2) there was another updating being installed and it noted this one as a dependency but the update site with the dependency wasn't setup in CCS

#2 is pretty easy to fix. If you go to Window -> Preferences. Then select Install/Update -> Available update sites in the tree on the left you can check to see if this update site is present and enabled: software-dl.ti.com/.../Updates

#1 can be more random. It can be a network issue that prevented or interrupted communication with the site. It could be a firewall or antivirus program that detected CCS pinging the site and the started blocking access.

    Regards,
    John
