CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC2650: Cannot download and install "CC26xx Bluetooth Smart - v:2.01.00.44423"

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC2650

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm trying to download from Resource Explorer "CC26xx Bluetooth Smart - v:2.01.00.44423", so to gain access to Project Zero. Unfortunately, I cannot do that because download abruptly ends at 10% with error message "There was an error in downloading the file. Please try again.". I'm sure it's not a network problem because I successfully downloaded and installed "TI-RTOS for CC13XX and CC26XX - v:2.21.00.06".

I use CCS version 6.2.0.00050 and I cannot switch to another one because it works for the other members of my research group.

  • That software package has been removed from Resource Explorer. It looks like there is an issue with the CCSv6.2 resource explorer where it still shows it as available. You can download the BLE stack from here:
    www.ti.com/.../ble-stack

    Regards,
    John
  • I've spent days of valuable time trying to match up compatible versions of CCS, Simplelink stack and RTOS.

THIS TI RESOURCE EXPLORER (web and CCS) IS INFURIATINGLY BROKEN.

TI, please, just scrap this, put the files in an accessible archive with a text file explaining compatible versions and shut down Resource explorer (WEB AND CCS) until it's fixed. Really, it's amateurish, incomplete, harms TI's reputation and is below TI's usually high standard. I would strongly hesitate before using TI's suites again, despite their generous pricing and availablility.

I've feel exactly the same. I've gone around the maze of broken links for days on end and I still have a Project Zero that doesn't broadcast.
