LAUNCHXL-F28027F: GUICOMPOSER and LAUNCHXL-F28027F LOCKED.

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28027F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, DRV8301

I am using UNIVERSAL GUICOMPOSER to load a Lab01b(appProgram.out) into a new LAUNCHXL-F28027F but doesn't work with message " cant load because there is another non debugable program running ..." or something. Then I try with another LAUNCHXL-F28027F (older), same GUI, same .out, same PC, etc. ant it works fine. What can I do?

Regards.

  • Fernando,

From your description it seems that one of your boards is either locked or has a pre-loaded program that is preventing the JTAG debugger from properly connecting to it (perhaps issuing continuous resets, etc.)

I would then try to bulk erase the flash memory of the device using either CCS or Uniflash.

Details on how to do this with CCS are shown at:
    processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Flash_Programming_F28x

For Uniflash, check section 2.3 of:
    processors.wiki.ti.com/.../UniFlash_v4_Quick_Guide

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
  • Thanks desouza.

Done. By Uniflash, I erase, unlock, load a program, erase, read memory and is true erased blocks A,B,C,C 0x3F000 ..., from LAUNCHXL-F28027F flash, but again, GUI doesn’t work. The screen of the error is attached.

Curious: I can launch a program like “timed-ledblink” in CCS debugger and works fine.

    Regards,

    Fernando

    My system: Windows 7 sp1, CCS V7.2.00013, LAUNCHXL-F28027F V1.0, BOOSTXL DRV8301 REV B, Universal GUICOMPOSER V1(?)standalone, Program InstaPIN FOC Lab01b, something more?

  • Fernando,

Thanks for sending the additional details. It seems to me that something may be wrong with the GUI Composer applet or the system itself.

The reason is that I did not get any errors when loading the Lab01b application in my LAUNCHXL-F28027F. Unfortunately I don't have the Boosterpack, therefore I can't tell if this board would trigger the error. You can try to remove it and see if you get any errors.

In the meantime I will contact someone on the C2000 forum that is more knowledgeable about the applet itself.

    Regards,
    Rafael
  • Rafael,

The presence of  boosterpack  has no diference, I have tested. With another  LAUNCHXL-F28027F (I bought last month) I did not get any errors too. I see in forum that other persons have same error with inconclusive answers.

    Regards,

    Fernando
