CCS/TDA2SX: Cortex A15 PC Trace with XDS560 V2 "Uninitialized error text" error

Hi,

One of our customers is trying to capture Cortex A15 PC Trace with XDS560v2 STM-Traveller. Their CCS version and TI Emulator version is as follows:

CCS version: 7.2.00013

TI Emulators: 6.0.682.3

The ETB buffer based traces works fine, but when selecting XDS560V2 trace they get the following error

"Could not run analyzer on CortexA15_0. Cause: Uninitialized error text".

We have tried cleaning the workspace and the .TI-trace folders but the same issue exists. Any idea what is going wrong?

Piyali,

The XDS560v2 STM Traveller does not support PC Trace other than ETB. For details, please check the clip below that describes the capabilities of each debug probe.

Hi Rafael,

Thanks for clarifying! From the youtube video I understood that Protrace is the only emulator with which the CPU trace can be brought out without ETB settings.

However, in CCSv7, the PC trace pop up window showed 3 options ETB, XDS Protrace and XDS560 V2. Does this mean the XDS560V2 option cannot be used for the Cortex A15 trace or this is a problem only with the traveller version of the XDS560 V2 emulator?

Piyali,

I verified the XDS560v2 STM option is shown in a PC Trace, but it should not be showed at all.

I will file an enhancement to filter out entries that are only relevant to the type of Trace.
