CCS/TMS320F28379D: Importing C2000 ControlSUITE examples..

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, C2000WARE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Team,

What is the best method of importing the C2000 ControlSUITE exmaples? I understand this is a legacy package and is being replaced by C2000Ware, but I still need access to the old examples...

In perusing through the forums, there seems to be a common theme of reverting back to CCSv5. I've tried this, but Import -> Existing CCS Project still does not find a project in the directory.

Any thoughts?

Best,

  • Lina,

You can use CCSv7 to import examples from controlSUITE.  You can do this via the import tool:

Browse to where the examples are located:

It will then list the examples that are present

Or you can also use Resource Explorer Classic to browse through the examples that are in controlSUITE if it is installed in the standard directory.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hi John,

When I "import CCS Projects" and browse to the location you list, no projects come up. This is my issue. Not sure what is causing this...

Regarding Resource Explorer Classic, this just gives me access to the C file, but without the project contents and everything linked properly, it will not build.
  • Lina,

Two details: in your copy of CCS do you have C2000 support installed? If not, you have to re-run the installer and point to your existing directory to add a new device family.

Also, I recently noticed that my install of controlSUITE was also corrupted; the reason I found was that our backup system does not save specific file extensions, thus the restore to my new laptop was incomplete. If you have changed your laptop recently, perhaps that is the reason why. In this case, a reinstall is necessary.

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
  • You can check if you have support for C2000 installed by going to Project -> New CCS Project and try to create a new project for F28379D.

If you are able to do that then can you check inside one of the example folders to see if the project files are present.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hi John, Rafael,

Thanks for your help. I did have C2000 support installed. However, in re-installing ControlSUITE (using ZIP installer as web installer seems broken), this resolved the issue. Thanks again for saving the day! :)

    Best,
