CCS/TMS320F28035: Is XDS110 compatible with CCS 6.1.3?

On this XDS110 page it says the XDS110 is compatible with CCS 6.1.0 and later:

On this XDS110 page it says (in big bold red letters) the XDS110 can only be used with CCS 7.0 and later; do not use with any earlier versions:

So there are two TI webpages saying two very different things.

If I used CCS 6.1.3 can I safely use the XDS110 or not?

    What XDS110 are you using? There are embedded (on-board) XDS110s and standalone XDS110s.

    www.ti.com/.../TMDSEMU110-U is the product page for the standalone XDS110 debug probe, i.e. the probe that you use with a custom board. This probe requires CCSv7.0 or later.

    Embedded (on-board) XDS110s are supported in CCSv6.1.0 and later.

    These two solutions use different firmware inside the debug probe. The older firmware is not compatible with the standalone XDS110.
