CCS/CCSTUDIO: CCS installed on 32-bit linux using Virtual box

Although running CCS on a virtual machine is not an officially supported configuration, many users have been successful in working in such environments, in spite of some known performance/reliability issues. They are using CC1350 Launchpads as well as its SensorTag with the DevPack debugger extension.

I don't have this same environment set up so I cannot tell for sure what the problem may be. When you say "the system is not detecting the device" do you mean that they don't see the XDS110 entries in the Windows Device Manager? If so, the first troubleshooting steps could be to try different USB ports and different USB cables. Also might be good to check the validity of the board itself by making sure that it works in a native Windows environment with the same version of CCS.
