I got the following problem with updating CCS :

At the end I got this error message:

Can someone please tell me how to solve this.

Thanks,

  • Hello
I have the same, then the response interest me.

I have also problem when I want install CCS v7.3..
    Thank.
  • We found there was problem where the 3rd party content delivery provider's data was out of sync with our local data. This issue has been corrected.

Could you retry this operation? The error message reported above looked like it might have been unrelated so we may still have something to investigate.

  • Hi,

I just installed both C2800 and ARM 16.9.6 compilers on my CCSv7.2.0 without issues.

    Regards,
    Rafael
  • Still no luck.

  • Hello,
    I have exactly the same.

    Regards
  • I suspected the sync issue was not going to resolve this.

Would you be able to exit CCS, then download and run the attached "installer".  While it looks like an installer, all it does is patch some of the existing installation scripts that get run when you try to install an update. We are suspecting that a sequence of dependencies in your installs causes this problem. The patch relaxes those dependencies.

The installer asks for the install location of CCS and defaults to c:\ti.  If you have installed in a different folder, you can point it to that folder.

After running the patch, please retry the update and let us know how it goes.

    UpdateTest-1.0-windows-installer.exe

  • Dear all,

Same issue over here, the suggested batch doesn't help. It now can go on with the updater but gets stuck while trying to download "ti_dspack_ibsetup_win32_7.3.0.1031.exe". Below the screenshot of the installation. The window is not responding anymore at this point.

  • Re-Opening Code Composer after forced exit of updater window and requesting updates once more results in first: "No updates found" and at the same time an error message "No repository found at software-dl.ti.com/.../."

  • I got the flowing error from windows:
The program can not be started because COMCTL32.DLL is missing on your computer. You may be able to resolve this problem by reinstalling the program. (only in an other languages)

I got COMCTL32.dll 20 times on my PC.

Maybe compress the file. Because of firewalls.

  • On My Side, I installed your provide patch then the two update Compiler C2800 are ok now.

When I click on "Check For update" the two error message you said bellow was appeared.

So i restart CCS and now it indicate (No Updates were found in available software sites".

    This Is Ok,

But I was tried this week to installe the CCS 7.3.0, with the same problem reported above.

Now in Help/About Code Composer Studio, the version field is blank!

  • I try to re installe CCS v7.3.0:

After it proposed to me to generat a report to Texas, It indicate:

"Submit completed, Use the reference number below to follow up on this issues using the online CCS support Forums. Reference #: 68753"..

I not find in the forum the section with the following of this submit..

Then after that, In Ccs, it ask me again to update ARM Compiler and C2800 Compiler, I click Ok, it install and after that ask me to restart CCS. Then the installation of Ccs v7.3.0 start again... And will crash like last time etc...

  • Hi - was this ever resolved satisfactorily? I'm still getting this...
  • Referring only to A GIR's reply:

We had a look through the submitted logs. Prior to the initial problem, the installation was updated from 7.1 to 7.2, and had various other updates applied. These all went fine. The initial problem occurred Nov 6. There was an additional installation attempt to resolve the problem on Nov 14. The Nov 14 install attempt appears to have put the installation in an unrecoverable state where there were pieces of both the new install and the original install.

Rather than try to untangle the issues with the current installation folder, my recommendation would be start from a clean v7.3 installation. It would be best to rename or delete the prior installation folder before to starting (IE, rename C:\ti\ccsv7 to something else).

We are very sorry for the trouble and have taken steps to ensure the dependency issue you ran into on Nov 6 is addressed for CCS v7.4.

  • Hello

I reinstall CCS v7.3 like you advice.

    All is ok now.

    Thank

  • I tried running the UpdateTest-1.0-windows-installer.exe, then restarted CCS to perform an update. Now I am getting the following issue where com.ti.ccstudio.installer.msvc.2015.win32 fails to install!

  • The CCS installer also includes and runs the Visual Studio 2015 redistributable installer from Microsoft. For some reason this redistributable installer is failing. This can be run by itself to better see what it is having trouble with.

You can get the same executable from Microsoft, or I've also made it available here.  Please run this installer. If it offers to repair your installation, please allow it to do so. After this has successfully installed, what does the update do?

  • I have the same problem:

The provided patch does not work, it always says

no matter which path I select (CCS is located in C:\ti33\CCS_7_2_0\ccsv7\eclipse\ccstudio.exe and was updated from 7.2.0).

    So what to do now?

  • I gave up and took the advice earlier in this thread - I renamed the ccs7 directory and did a new install of 7.3 - all the git stuff still worked as before and CCS is now fully functional after re-adding the latest MSP430 compiler - took about 20 minutes start to finish - much simpler than trying to fix the 7.2 install, plus I know that the current install is "clean".

    Nick
  • Thanks, yes, clean install is what I did with updates until now, too.
The problem is that I always have to install all the handy eclipse plugins after that - but you are right, might still be faster...
  • I have been experiencing this problem for weeks now in several machines at work, all running Kubuntu 17.04. The option to re-install CCS is very complicated for us because of the controlled nature of those machines and the plug-ins installed.
This just adds more pain to the recent issue related to compatibility with glibc 2.26 that has impeded us so far to update the PCs to Kubuntu 17.10, as we had planned. A month has passed and the Linux Host Support site has no answer to that problem!
I would like to hear from TI how to fix this without having to make a clean re-install (again!).

  • Pibe,

At the moment we don't have an answer for you other than either re-installing CCSv7.3 or waiting until CCSv7.4 is out (supposedly at the end of this week) and then performing an OS/CCS update.

    I apologize for the inconvenience,
    Rafael
  • Any update on the release of 7.4?
