CCS/TMDX570LC43HDK: Permission denied problem during linker phase

Hy,

on my pc I've installed both CCSV6 and CCSV7, it is a Win10 installation

when I try to compile a project on CCSV7 sometimes I've the following error:

fatal error #6001: cannot open file "C:\ti\ccsv7\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-arm_16.9.6.LTS\lib\rtsv7R4_A_be_v3D16_eabi.lib": Permission denied

I've checked and all the directory is open to my user, and also I've the same problem after restarting PC, and open only CCSV7 and compile.

How can I solve this problem?

Hello Antonio,

Does CCSv6 also exhibit the same issue?

What account type do you have for your Windows machine - User or Administrator?

Check your permissions to the system temp folder. Make sure you have write access as CCS requires this.

Hi Ki,
CCSv6 is working correctly, the problem is just on CCSV7,
I'm not the administrator, and I'm not sure that temp directory could be available for my user,
I will check tomorrow morning,

Was CCSv6 and CCSv7 installed from the same account login?

Yes, CCSV6 and CCSV7 installed for the same user,

I've all permission for C:\TI

I've only read permission for C:\Windows\Temp and this is the rule, no possible to change this

any idea about how to solve this problem?

Can you set the system TEMP and TMP variables to a folder that you have write access to?

I can't ask this to network administrator,
in any case CCS signal the problem is on TI directory, not Temp directory

Etantonio, sorry for the delayed response. If this issue is still open, can you try temporarily running CCS as administrator?

I solved creating a new project in a new workspace, but I'm not sure about the reason it works

Thank you for the update and glad to see it is working now. I would guess that the new workspace helped. Cleaning it out does help resolve various stability issues and I recommended cleaning it out periodically.
