CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC1310: Resource explorer not launching

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1310

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I  want to try an example from the resource explorer and it keeps showing me "Loading TIREX".

What can I do?

Regards,

  • Nour,

We should be able to help you get past this.

Can you let me know what version of CCS you are running as well as the hostOS (windows, linux, Mac)?

You can try the following ( Assuming you are on Windows):
    1) Close CCS
    2) Check Task manager and ensure that there are no "node" processes running. If there are please kill them.
    3) Go to your user folder <userid>\ti Rename the tires-localserver-<version> folder to something else like backup-tires-localserver-3.1.3
    4) Start CCS
    5) try opening Resource Explorer.

    Regards,
    John
  • hello John

i'm using version 7.4.0 and i'm using windows.
i'll try what you suggested now thank you
  • unfortunately it didn't work, what else can i do?

  • Nour,

Are there a lot of software packages in C:\ti? It could be that the database that Resource Explorer uses is getting corrupted at startup. CCSv8.0 which is due out in a week is a lot more resilient to this scenario.

    We could try the following:
    1) Close CCS.
    2) Go to your user folder <userid>\ti Rename the tires-localserver-<version> folder to something else
    3) Go into C:\ti and move any software packages (such as the simplelink SDK into a different folder such as C:\test\nour.
    4) Start CCS
    5) Open resource explorer (assuming this now comes up ok)
    6) copy the SimpleLink SDK back into C:\ti
    7) Click on the button at the top left of Resource Explorer that looks like 3 horizontal lines. Select scan desktop. It should now find the SDK.

    Regards,
    John
  • Nour,

Not sure if you had a chance to try the last suggestion I made. I also wanted to let you know that CCSv8.0 is not available and the Resource Explorer included in it has a lot of improvements for reliability.

    Regards,
    John
  • Nour,

As we haven't heard from you in quite some time I can going to assume that you have gotten past this and I will close this thread. If you are still having an issue please feel free to reply or to start a new thread.

    John
