CCS/MSP430FR2433: Can't get online, offline installed CCS7.4 and MSP430WARE 3.8, how to make the msp430ware show in resource explorer

Part Number: MSP430FR2433
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

My customer can't get on internet.  I supported them to offline install CCS7.4 and MSP430WARE. When opened the CCS, I can see an SDK import process.

but still I can't find  the msp430WARE in resource explorer. I also tried the disconnection from cloud and set the install folder in the "preference" setting, still not

work.  please kindly guide how to make the msp430ware show in resource explorer on this occasion. thanks.

  • If they have no internet connection then they will not be able to view MSP430Ware in Resource Explorer today as it still downloads the metadata from the cloud. They have a couple of options. They can use Resource Explorer Classic and point it to where they have MSP430Ware installed and it will do a partial display of the content. Alternatively they can also import any of the example projects by going to the Project menu and selecting Import CCS Projects.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi there.
It would be nice to know when this is fixed. Is there some way being automatically notified of this or do I have to keep checking?
    thanks...
  • Paul,

This is a ways off. I will see if I can find the tracking number for it and post it here. This will not happen until 2019. Many of our software packages are now including metadata for Resource Explorer inside the package itself. This is in a raw/unprocessed form, so there will be a processing step that Resource Explorer will go through when reading this data. For now if you are working completely offline the alternatives are to use Resource Explorer classic or just going to Project -> Import CCS Projects.

    Regards,
    John
  • OK, things take time.
    thanks...
  • Here is the tracking ID. REX-1944

It is likely not yet visible in the public system but should be by tomorrow.
