CCS/TMS320C6424: Connection type

Hi,

In the drop down "Connection" option, do you have anything else other than "TI MSP430..."? The reason is that the C6424 device is compatible with XDS-class debug probes, but your screenshot shows the MSP-FET connection.

If you don't have a separate XDS Debug Probe, you will need one. That or the board may have a built-in XDS Debug Probe.

I don't know this board, do you have a link to a datasheet?

Yes I have used XDS100V1,XDS100V2 and XDS100V3 usb emulator but my board was not detected.

If you have a XDS100, you would need to configure it as:

The information that the board was not detected is too vague. With the error message shown, I would definitely check the troubleshooting page below, especially the sections "Strategy for debugging JTAG connectivity problems" and "Troubleshooting the connect phase"

This error is explained in the same reference I sent before - simply do a search for -600 on the page. It contains several tips that can help you dig further in the root cause of this issue. One detail is the error can be caused by HW - make sure the device is out of reset, is set to a suitable bootmode or the connection between the XDS100v2 and the device is correct.

Unfortunately I don't have a board with this device to be able to perform a deeper investigation on the possible scenarios that cause this particular error, but hopefully you can find some help in the reference above.

I will try to locate a board and see if I can reproduce the problem. I will get back to this thread if I have any additional information.

No I couldn't resolve the issue.
Instead of CCS I used LabVIEW.
