CCS/EZ430-F2013: Unable to setup a connection using CCS v8

Part Number: EZ430-F2013

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I recently bought an EZ430-F2013 USB Stick and I'm trying to set up a new project but I don't understand how to setup the device connection.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64, the driver in use by the EZ430-F2013 is "MSP-FET430UIF - VCP" with a COM3 port associated.

The target device is "MSP430F2013" and inside the connection menu I have multiple choice:

  •  TI MSP430 USB1
  • TI MSP430 USB2
  • TI MSP430 USB3
  • UARTConnection

With any of the firsts 3 the "identify" functionality return the following error:

Error initializing emulator:
No USB FET was found

By using the UARTConnection I need change the default config port from COM65 to COM3 but now I see another error:

Can't Initialize Target CPU: Failed to open COM3 at 9600 baud: open: cannot find the specified file

I miss to configure something? The guidelines are for CCS v7.

In that way I cannot debug the "Blink" example ...

Thanks,

Gabriele

Thanks,

Gabriele
