CCS: CCS Cloud: TI Cloud Agent and macOS 32-bit Warning

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When installing TI Cloud Agent, macOS warns about the application being 32-bit.

Does TI plan to release a 64-bit version of TI Cloud Agent?

Thank you!

  • Olivier,

I am surprised to see that. The TI Cloud agent should already be 64bit. On Mac we still have to release a 64bit compiler but the agent should have been 64bit from the beginning. There must be some 32bit component getting installed when the MSP-FET / 432 combination is selected.

I use the agent on High Sierra frequently and have not gotten that message. I will need to try to trigger it to download the same set of files you are using to trigger the error. I assume this came up when using MSP-FET + MSP432?

    Regards,
    John
  • No luck reproducing. I wiped out my cloud agent and forced it to install again. Maybe this warning is specific to the latest High Sierra patch. My version is 10.13.2, what High Sierra version do you have? Apple might have enabled this check in the latest patch.

  • Olivier, John,

I got the warning; it seems to be a new thing from the OS update I just installed: 10.13.4. Fortunately this does not impact functionality.

    We should file a Jira.

    Cheers,
    Rafael

  • I'm using macOS 10.13.4 (17E202), and indeed, this feature / bug was introduced by this update.
  • Using the Activity Monitor,

    • I confirm the installer is 32 bits...

    • ...while DSLite used during debugging is 64 bits.

  • Olivier,

Thanks for reporting this. I just filed the bug number TICLD-2669. Please check its status in a few hours at the link SDOWP in my signature below.

    I apologize for the inconvenience,
    Rafael
