CCS/CCSTUDIO: Unable to Install CCS, TEMP folder permission denied

Hi all,
so I just received a new laptop and I am trying to install CCS, however each time I do I get this error:

An error occured : error deleting "C:/Users/Nik Provost/AppData/Local/Temp/ccs_a6542910-3607-44f8-7197-1d7c40444590/ccs_err_codes.csv":permission denied

Each time the code between Temp/ to /ccs_err_codes.csv changes but everything else stays the same. My firewall and antivirus are turned off, and I am running the installer as an admin.

I have also attached the install log. If anyone could figure out what is going on I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello!

There is space symbol in your username, and TEMP folder location. Try username without space.

I have the exact same username on a desktop PC which installed code composer completely fine. The Temp folders on both PC's are exactly the same as well.

Hello Nikolas,
rrlagic's suggestion is a good one. Spaces in paths can cause issues.

However, the error message you mentioned is unrelated to that. It is in regards to a known issue that has been plaguing several other users:

Hi Nikolas,

Could you double check your anti-virus file checking is off? It looks like something's holding the file open and it can't delete it.

As far as I can see, all anti-virus on my pc is completely disabled whilst trying to install CCS.

CCSv7 is installing perfectly fine, only CCSv8 hits the error.

Here are the successful ccsv7 logs. So far ccsv8 is still unsuccessful with the same errors.Successful_CCSV7_Install.zip

Only the offline installer worked, the online installer errored out with the same errors as ccsv8.

4 days after you have received potential solution, your issue is unresolved.

Why?

YOU: I have the exact same username on a desktop PC which installed code composer completely fine.
... completely fine however a different version of CCS.
Did you tried to install CCS7.4 on a new lap? I guess, NO!

CCSv8.x.0 uses an unmodified Eclipse Version 4.7 and CDT 9.3.
CCSv7.4.0 uses an unmodified Eclipse Version 4.6 and CDT 9.0.

I have compared my CCSv7.4 install log with yours one.
The difference is that in my case wget, having no spaces within paths, is always working, however in your case, wget usually fails if not always.

There must be some issue with 8.2 and how it deals with wget failures.

Please, delete a user name with a space invented by Microsoft.

Thanks Nikolas. Are you saying the CCS 7 web installer failed the same way as CCS 8? Could you zip up and post the logs please?

In the meanwhile, can you please disable network access temporarily, and try the install again?
This should allow you to get CCS installed.
