CCS/CCSTUDIO: CCS crashes when I change selected Build Configuration in Properties on SYS/BIOS project

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

My team recently upgraded to CCS 8.1 from CCS 6.1.  We also updated some of the other products, such as XDCTools and SYS/BIOS.  We were able to make all of the modifications to the project to get everything to work and we tested it in the product.  One problem that we noticed, however, was that when we try and change the build configuration in the properties window, the field in the properties window goes blank.  If we try and change it again there is an error message.  However, if we exit the properties window and change the active build configuration, we can enter normally.  We are using SYS/BIOS 6.73.1.01 and XDCTools 3.50.8.24 right now for our project.

To verify that this issue is not isolated to our project, I created a new project.  I noticed that the problem only occurs when creating a SYS/BIOS project.  I followed the following steps:

1.  Create New CCS Project:

2.  Open build properties:

3.  Change build configuration from Debug to Release using Configuration drop-down (FIELD IS NOW BLANK!):

4.  Change back to Debug using Configuration drop-down (Could Not Accept Changes message!):

5.  Click ok (Get index out of bounds error message!):

  • Thank you for the detailed report. This is a known issue in CCS 8.1, tracking ID is CCSIDE-3385. You can view the bug report by clicking on the SDOWP link in my signature.

It will be fixed in CCS 8.3 (tentatively planned for end of year release).
