While programming we look for naming, and besides the fact that good programming should include the use of speaking names, in my very personal opinion naming is a central aspect of programming.
Sometimes it seems as if some people are tempted to tell the whole story within one noun - the acronyms are born. Occasionally I understand this and am tempted myself, but too often I see acronymic names without any knowledge about their origin, having no idea about each single letter's background.
Thatswhy (because it drives me crazy) I started the Wiki Page 'Acronyms'. It is actually extremely at the beginning yet, but however, although I don't see how the grass is growing, some day the countryside is green. ;-)
