As it says in the title. Does it know 0b00000100 equals BIT2?

What about the IDE? At least the expression watcher doesn't understand the 0b notation.

Well, okay, it seems the *compiler* groks 0b notation but watcher wants it with trailing b instead. So insted of 0b0001 you would do 0001b

It actually converts it to 64bit value that's pretty obnoxious.

Yes, TI compiler releases since about 2014 have supported GCC-style binary integer constants. I don't know anything about the watch window roadmap.

I had actually unrelated bug (good old negation priority) and thought there's a problem with binary representation since watcher threw an error.
