Compiler: v17.9.0 (ARM & C2000) infected with malware ?

I scanned those files with ...

• Symantec Endpoint Protection
• Version 14 (14.0 MP2) build 2415 (14.0.2415.0200)
• Protection Definitions are current

I found no problems. That said, I'll relay your concerns to the relevant team.

Can you tell us where you downloaded these from?  Did you get them off a Web download site (and if so, please send a link to which one) or were they from a CCS update?

Hi Anna,
initially I had installed the 17.9.0 ARM and C2000 compilers through CCS and after some time (probably after a signature update and/or a computer scan) F-Secure quarantined them. I also downloaded the installers again from software-dl.ti.com/.../download.htm and the AV software (F-secure with current signatures) quarantined the same two files again during installation this time.
The two suspicious files have also been sent to F-secure for more testing and they found them to be infected too.

Can you please verify the SHA-256 hashes for both files?  See attached file.  You can do this easily by right-clicking on the file, selecting "CRC SHA->SHA-256".  If you don't have this functionality, let me know and we can find a different hash format.

Hi again,

I cannot access these files since the AV software automatically quarantines them. But the IT department have provided me with the results of the scan analysis they run ( VirusTotal ) and the SHA-256 hashes shown there DO match the ones you have.

Can you try testing the files with VirusTotal on your side?
