No WEBENCH for iPad

I couldn't find a direct feedback link to TI for this. I'm just making a comment and hoping someone might have somebody they know at TI they can forward this request to. I tried TI support, but was told the forum here was the only support site.

iPads are great design tools when you're away from your computer. Mine's with me almost all the time, and my computer isn't.. WEBENCH requires Adobe Flash to run in a browser. Flash is an old technology that is a memory, processor, and battery hog, and thus is a terrible technology for mobile devices. WEBENCH is a great tool. Surely TI can put out a version that will run with and without Flash. Most major website have been designed to run both with and without Flash.

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for your suggestion. I will take it to the next WEBENCH meeting to discuss and evaluate the idea of running WEBENCH on non flash environment (e.g. Ipad). In the meanwhile, you can try out the phone version of simplify WEBENCH Power Designer at http://webench.ti.com/wbmobile for any non flash device.

  • Hi,

Thank you very much for the feedback. We are continually improving WEBENCH to make it a convenient tool for our customers. We will keep your suggestion in mind for future development.

  • Thanks. The full web version on the iPad is actually pretty good - a lot better than small phones screens. A full site version would be ideal. But, it's still very good on the iPad (if a little clumsy in spots) without the Flash running. when you discuss this issue, certainly one thing to keep in mind in if it didn't require Flash, it might attract even more iPad users. Great tool. Simple, intuitive and productive. That's about 95% of the score.

thanks to the both of you. Just the fact that TI employees responded is a major plus too.
