bq25504 simulation

Dear all!

Can any body  tell me how to do simulation of bq25504. I tried in TINA TI but it does not working. Means IT can not open the file provided by the IC simulation file. SO how to do the simulati0n. can any body give the link to download appropriate software

    Sunil,

    The model in the product folder is a PSpice model. In order to use it, you will need PSpice, version 15.7 or higher since the model is encrypted. All of the power models in TI product folders are encrypted (PSpice or TINA-TI).

    If you need the model in TINA-TI v9, we can translate the PSpice model into a TINA-TI format and provide it to you. Please reply if that is your preference.

    Hi Sunil,

    I just wanted to add to Britt's comment. Most of our models are built using generic building blocks and can be ported into PSPICE compatible simulators like TINA-TI. However there are some cases when it is not possible to make models using generic building blocks and BQ25504 is an example of such a part.

    We need to run the BQ25504 simulation (energy harvesting application) for a very long time (of the order of seconds). This can not be done using generic building blocks because of speed and data file issues. Hence this model was developed using inbuilt PSPICE building blocks which can make use of the mixed mode simulation and speed up the simulation. As such, this model is not generic in nature and can not be ported over from PSPICE to other simulators. You will need PSPICE V15.7 and up to run this simulation.

    It is provided by Cadence. You can download it from their website: http://www.cadence.com/products/orcad/Pages/default.aspx. Please note that it is not free and you will have to pay for their license.
