Using TI's Encrypted Power Macro Models and Requesting Unencrypted Models

Encrypted Models

Many "Power" related models provided by Texas Instruments are encrypted and will only run in the simulator in which they are encrypted. For example, a PSpice encrypted model will only run in PSpice 15.7 and up. A TINA-TI encrypted model will only run in TINA-TI (which is a free Spice simulator provided by TI). You can not use a model that is encrypted in one simulator in another simulator. For this you will need the unencrypted model.

Getting the unencrypted model

1. In order to find unencrypted models from TI, please visit and type in the keyword “unencrypted”. This will filter out all the unencrypted Power type of models on These can be downloaded directly from the web portal.

2. Many models on continue to be encrypted. If you do need these in unencrypted format, please contact your TI Field Applications Engineer or submit a request through and they should be able to help you with this request. Note that this may need a valid NDA with TI.
