Hi TI team,

While I was searching for info on how to use encrypted pspice models in ltspice, I discovered this is not possible and, if i'm not mistaken, conversion to ltspice is also not possible due to legal issues.

Can you convert the pspice models to Tina-TI for following LED drivers : LM3401, LM3402, LM3404 and LM3406. The most important ones to me are the LM3404 and LM3406.

What is the average timeframe for translations?

Sorry for the confusion. Please ignore the link. The time frame for translation depends on the current queue. I do not have an exact date for you at this time but will try to get the model (at least one of them) as soon as possible.

The LM3406 TINA-TI model was also released to the product folder today. It should show up after the next web update. Let me know if you have any issues accessing it.

Hi Frank,

Just click on the LM3406 link in my previous post. That should take you to the product folder. From there, look under "Tools and Software". It will take a day or two for the models to show up on the web.

Hi Frank,

Just so you know, the spicerack link that you were referring to has not been updated for a while. The best place to look for a spice model on ti.com is in the respective product folders under "Tools and Software".

Note that we are working on getting a replacement system for spicerack in place, but it is not quite ready yet.

I do have another question :

After installing Tina-TI, I only have 6 component tabs (see picture : Basic, Switches, Meters, Sources, Semiconductors, Spice Macros).

How do I get the other tabs and TI components in Tina-TI?

Frank,

You will see 11 buttons once the tab "Spice Macros" is selected, each for one type of products. Click any one of them you will see a component browser in which you can select TI components to be placed in your schematic.

Dear Nikhil,

I downloaded snvm558.tsc as LM3406 TINA-TI PWM_DIMMING Reference Design.

I would like to understand if there's a way to let the 3406 starts only when a sufficient voltage it's applied.

As a first step I used a partitor from VIN to gnd connected to DIM pin, then, in order to be more accurate, I have started thinking to use a TPS3700 as a voltage monitor.

During the simulation I've found two (to me) strange behaviours:

1. Voltage on DIM arises also when the VIN it's not applied

2. the circuitdoesn't converge if I connect something to DIM pin.

Could you help me please?
