TINA-TI LED Macro

I have a design witch uses LM3429 and CREE CXA3070. Webench does not provide simulation of this circuit for some reason but I found a reference design using LM3429 for TINA-TI but it has different LED's. I have the spice model for the CREE LED and I was just going to modify the MACRO in the reference design but the model is encrypted. Can you suggest a source for an LED macro that I can use and just adjust the spice parameters to match the CREE LED?

Hi David,

You should be able to paste your CREE model right into the WB_LED_DIODE macro. Just make sure to follow the pin convention stated in the WB_LED_DIODE namely 1 2. Let me know if this works.

Thanks Marcos. Where can I find this Macro? I looked in the libraries but I didn't see it.

Hi David,

Do you have a link to the model file for the LED that you are trying to integrate into TINA? You can also attach the txt file if you have it locally.

I can create a reference design and upload a couple of images depicting the steps that I did to get the model in TINA.

Hi David,

I have created a simple diode resistor circuit using the model provided by CREE but one of the things I noticed is that the N in their model is

29.42 which is causing the diode not to behave like a diode. Usually this factor is from 1 to 2. Anyways please find attached the test circuit and give it a go.

You might want to contact them regarding N (Emission coefficient).
