TINA-TI: Warning Wire Not Connected

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi,

I'm new to TINA-TI, but I have used other SPICE programs. I'm struggling with almost every single net stating it is not connected. I've watched videos on youtube and I cannot see what I am doing wrong. Is there some special way in which to create nets and link them between parts of the circuit? I have attached my simple instrumentation simulation. Any help would be appreciated.AFE-DPG.TSC

  • Hi Gavin,

The only thing missing in your circuit are jumpers. Jumpers can be found under the "Basic" menu and it's the 5th element from right to left. Naming nets doesn't really connect them. The net names are used when the circuit netlist is generated. I've attached you same circuit using jumpers. I understand this is a tad confusing. There is a little issue with the enable pin on the amp you selected so I will forward this to some folks that will be able to help. In the meantime please feel free to post should you have any questions.1373.AFE-DPG.TSC

  • Hi Marcos,

Thanks for the help. I missed the "Jumpers" as the symbol reminded me of a supply rail and I didn't associate it with a jumper/connection.

    Kind regards,
    Gavin
  • Note, that  the nodes/wires with the same name are still connected, the warnings you received are about the open end of the wires only. If both ends of wires are connected to nodes no warning is issued and if these wires have the same names they are connected.  For similar cases as yours it is better to use Jumpers.

I agree that this warning is a bit confusing and has already been removed in the current commercial versions of TINA v10.

    Best regards
