Adding downloaded component to TINA and more.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA114, LMC660, TINA-TI

Hi there,

I'm new to TINA and was wondering how to add a downloaded component from the TI website to TINA. I have looked at several sources. Some say I have to download the library manager. I do not know where/how to do that. I have tried just going into "insert, macro" and selecting the "TSM" file. Is this correct?

I have noticed that the folder for the downloaded component has .lib, .tld, .tsm files. What do these mean? Do I only need the .tsm file?

Lastly, when I search in Ti for my component (INA114), several models come up. What does Rev.A, RevB, RevC mean? Which one do I choose?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Miranda

  • Miranda,

I understand the confusion. The additional files are not necessary, however, they were necessary in an older version when we had hoped that users would be able to add components to the selection menus independently. This methodology is not used now.

In short, you need to use the Insert-->Macro function with the .TSM file to place the component. The TSM file contains the model and symbol.

The revisions that you see are generated when a model is updated in the product folder. The latest version is present, however, we need to keep track of the older versions for support issues, so the model revisions are kept on the page.

Please note that the PSpice model and the TINA model may be updated independently.

  • Hi Britt,

Thank you so much for your help. I also have one more query. I would like to download the Tina Ti component (TSC file) for the operational amplifier LMC660 and voltage regulator MC78L05ACP for a large design project for university. I cannot find it, what should I do?

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards,

    Miranda

  • Miranda,

For the LMC660, you can import the PSpice model from the product folder into TINA-TI. There is a good document on how to do this on the TINA download page. We do not make the MC78L05A and I do not know of a PSpice model for it. If you have one, you can also import that into TINA-TI.
