encrypted models

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, DRV110, DRV8307

I downloaded some encrypted Tina Ti Transient Spice Models from ti.com. How I can open an encrypted model in Tina ti? For example I downloaded this driver, but I can not add it to my Tina Ti library.

   Could you help me?

  • You do not need to add the model to your TINA-TI library. Simply use the Insert-->Macro feature and use the .TSM file. The macros in TINA-TI are self contained symbol and model that can be placed as a component.

The other files in the .zip file (if present, .lib, .tld) were previously used to build in the device into your menu system for your installation, however, we do not use that method now (symbol requirements and updates were difficult for users).

You can also simply download the reference design that is ready to use and customize. If you have an existing .TSC file you want to add the model to, you can select the device (right click), hit ctrl-C and use ctrl-V to place the device into your schematic (cut and paste).

  •     Actually, I can not understand answer. For example, I downloaded this model from ti.com

Then,to use component in my circuit I folllowed these steps:

1)I downloaded Tina Ti Transient Spice Model. Then I extracted DRV110 to my desktop. After that I opened Tina Ti >> Tools  >>New Micro Wizard. Then I selected >>from file and DRV110.After that I get this warning:

This component is an  encrypted component. How I can add this component to my circuit? Can you describe me step by step, please?

    Thank you.

  • Why are you using the New Macro Wizard? Did you not read my previous post explaining the exact way to use the TINA-TI model that already exists? The New Macro Wizard is used for importing PSpice models into TINA-TI, not models that have already been imported into TINA-TI.

If you downloaded the TINA-TI model from the web, you should have the following:

    Open TINA-TI and select Insert-->Macro

Navigate to the location where you saved the model files shown above:

Select the DRV110.TSM file and click Open. The device will be placed in your schematic.

Alternatively, you can download the .TSC file (Reference Design) and use the ctrl-c, ctrl-v method of cut and paste as well as previously mentioned.

  • It is very helpful, thank you
  •    I want to add DRV8307 to my circuit.I downloaded Spice Model of DRV8307.But I can not add it to circuit.

I take this error. How I can add DRV8307 to my circuit

  • Hi user4762868,

The DRV8307 PSPICE model and project files that you have downloaded, are in encrypted format. That means you can use it in OrCAD PSPICE version 16.2 and above only. You can not import it to any other tool due to encryption.

To request unencrypted model, please check the following FAQ. Pay particular attention to the Getting the unencrypted model section, item 3. These devices may require an NDA before the unencrypted PSpice model could be provided.

  • Hello,

Yes, if you do not have a direct TI contact assigned to your company, you should use the form above to request the unencrypted models.

  • Hi,
I filled this page approximately 2 hours ago. When I can take a feedback? Could you give me an estimated date, please?
    Thank you.
