TPS74801 Convergence error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

I don't understand why I am receiving a convergence error with the following model, Please advise.

Thank you.+0.85VDC_M.TSC

  • James,

Apparently, TINA-TI does not like your enable signal. Yes, I am not sure why, however, I have found that if you ramp the enable from 0 to 3.3V in 10ns instead of the step delayed by 10ns, the circuit will simulate. However, you will need to increase your simulation time to 3ms to see the output reach the value you desire.

Alternatively, you could simply change the simulation parameter for "TR max iteration number" from 20 to 50. That appears to work with your simulation without any changes.

You can find the simulation parameters by choosing the Analysis-->Set Analysis Parameters... option. If you see the short list only, click on the hand icon and select View All. Scroll down the TR max iteration number parameter to make the change.
