I started with ALM2402Q1 TINA-TI Reference Design (Rev. B)

I set output cap to zero

Then I change the load resistor to 5 ohms (+/-200mA) this was fine.

Then I change the load resistor to 3.3 ohms (+/-300mA) this has a distorted output.

Can the current limit in model be increased to 400mA?

Thanks for posting the circuit.

I confirmed your observations on the output current and related distortion.

I will dig into the model to see what is going on and try to have a delivery date by the end of this week.

The model needs a basic revision to correct the output current and the output impedance..

I'll take a closer look and have a forecasted delivery date later this week or early next week.

Ron,

After a more careful look, the ALM2402 model will need some major revisions to some of its internal subcircuits.
Specifically the ones that affect voltage & current limiting, as well as Zout.

It is in our queue and work is scheduled to start at the end of January,

Hello,

I am also looking to verify a design with the ALM2402, and tried the PSpice model, which also seems to have current limitation issues.

Is the model currently being updated, and when can we expect to see the new model?

Thank you for confirming the current limitations for the ALM2402 model.
I initially thought model revisions could start at the end of January, but some higher-priority projects have caused some delays.
Apologies for any inconvenience this - and the model's problems - may have caused.

The model is in our work queue, but we do not yet have a forecasted completion date.
We will post a notice to this thread when the revisions have been scheduled.

This is just a heads-up that a new model for the ALM2402-Q1 was released a few minutes ago.
It should show up in the product folder tomorrow.

If you decide to evaluate the new model, please let me know any feedback you have.
