TINA/Spice/ADC161S626: TINA TI ADC16S626 Spice Model issue

Part Number: ADC161S626
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi,

I'm having problems with the ADC16S626 Spice Model on TINA-TI because it appears to be different from the pin-out diagram in the datasheet, as far as I know this A/D converter has a serial interface with one digital output since the data is being clocked out bit by bit.

But when I import the Spice Model to TINA-TI the IC has a kind of a parallel interface with 16 outputs showed below,

ADC16S626 Spice Model

I have made the conversions by hand and also the results didn't make sense. Also I have imported the reference design and the ADC is connected to a generic 16 bit DAC that generates the correct signal but my objective isn't the same. What I'm trying to do is a capture a data conversion with the 16 clock cycles on the ADC digital output. As last resort I created a new macro in the New Macro Wizard but the import fails because it says the library file is empty; when I open the macro it says the following at the end of the file:

* Encrypted macro. Content can't be viewed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

  • Hello,

For the sake of speed of simulations the Parallel to serial interface is removed.

The generic DAC is provided to help the user see/verify the result of the A/D conversion, if one doesn't need it should be able to delete it or add the desired P to S with appropriate clocking to output bits.

Usually the ADC models only model the input interface, this one happens to do the operation as well.

In order to get the unencrypted model , your company needs to have a NDA signed  with TI.
