TINA/Spice/TPS7B4254-Q1: Un-encrypted Spice model query

Part Number: TPS7B4254-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TPS7B4253-Q1, , TPS7B4250-Q1

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Is it possible to obtain un-encrypted Spice models for the TPSB425x range of devices, specifically TPS7B4252.

I am considering using this part for a design but need to simulate it with Micro-Cap 11.

Thank you.

  • Rory,

We will release this to the web shortly.
  • Hi Rory,

I have just released the TPS7B4250-Q1, TPS7B4253-Q1 and TPS7B4254-Q1 parts unencrypted model files to the web and they are appearing in product folders of these parts under 'Tools & Software' section.

Regarding the part you mentioned "specifically TPS7B4252", we don't have this part in out portfolio.

Kindly let me know if you need any other help.

    Thanks!!

    Mahavir Jain.

  • Thanks Mahavir, TPS7B4252 was a typo, should have been 4253
  • Mahavir,

I've tried to import the TPS7B4253-Q1 un-encrypted model into Micro-Cap 11, however there only appears to be 4 pins available for the schematic symbol but the device is comprised of 6 pins - Vin, EN, ADJ, OUT, FB and GND

Looking at the sub-circuit definitions, pins 1 - 4 are listed, but no more.

Please can you confirm that the model is correct and advise which sub-circuit pin definition is mapped to which function.

    Thank you,

    Best regards,

    Rory

  • Hi Rory,

The model has been mapped to 21 pin version of the package and contains all the pins mentioned by you as well as extra Ground, PAD and NC (Not Connected) pins. All the NC pins are connected to ground through very high value resistors. The model has been tested across corners in both PSPICE and TINA-TI and you can make sure about its functionality by using it in these tools.

PFA below the subcircuit definition that you need to use while importing this unencrypted mode.

You can remove extra pins and comment the lines related to those pins, if you have some experience with SPICE syntax, else I would suggest you leave it as it is.

Please let me know if this clarifies your query or if you have any other doubts.

    Thanks!!

    Best Regards,

    Mahavir Jain.
