TINA/Spice: Transient Analysis for RL circuit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

I want to use TINA-TI to simulate a series RL Circuit and get the current response for instants of peak and zero crossing voltages. How to get Current waveform without adding Ammeter?

And how to get current waveforms for instants of peak and zero crossings?

  • Hi Khaled,

Using Ampmeter is the only way I know of.

On your second question, I don't quite get it. I am assuming you're asking how to get the value of the peak and zero crossings from the the waveforms. If this is your question, you can get it by using the cursor within the waveform viewer. On the top menu, there is red cross with "a" sign as well as the blue cross with "b" sign on it. They are the cursors.

  • Thanks for you reply,
No i know how to do that. It is about plotting the current response for the two instants of voltage zero-crossings and the same for peak voltage.

    Hi Khaled,

I would like to apologize, but I truly do not understand your questions. Could you try to rephrase your questions to me? (e.g, use different vocabularies) or Could you try to draw a picture for me so that I can understand what you mean by "zero crossing" voltage etc?

I am speculating right now that what you ask is probably the unit step response for RL circuit (e.g, the RL circuit response when we first close the switch which is the equivalent of unit step response u(t) ). As such I attach the TINA file that you can use for unit step response of RL Circuit.

If I don't answer your question, again please try to draw picture for me or try to use different vocabularies so that I know what you mean.

    Regards,

    Herman
