problem with desing boost converter with TPS40210

hi,

I was made a simulation and a desing of a booster with Vin: 5-8 V output 12V 1A, but my circuit not working (don`t have errors about the desing with webench because i have all components (Except the mosfet because i have the NTD4963N)).

The Pin 1 have a signal with high frequecy, but with amplitude of 250 mv Aprox.

Vout is the same with Vin.

I dont have signal in base of transistor (NTD4963N).

DIS*/EN is not connected.

Can you help me please?? 5102.webench_design_3679925_13_488606997.pdf

  • Hi Julio,

Is the RC pin frequency the expected value of ~480 kHz? If so it sounds like this pin is working. The amplitude should be VDD/20 and with a 5V input the voltage would be 250 mV.

What is likely happening is hiccup over current due to noise at the ISNS pin. You can confirm this by looking at the SS pin waveform. You will see a sawtooth similar to Figure 26 in the datasheet.

Can you share the layout of the board you tested this circuit on?

    Best Regards,
    Anthony
