TPS54062 in Webbench designer now gives different result

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54062

Using a 10 to 50V input range with 0.016mA output and 4V with the TPS54062 use to give the following result:

with a 1mH inductor. it now gives:

with a 3.3mH.

I was wondering if someone could help by explaining why there is a difference, and which one is better.

Thanks for the help

  • Philip,

I am not sure why you see a 1mH in your older design. The inductor selection has not changed and the 3.3mH inductor is the correct one. If you point me to the date of creation, I could look into this.

The difference of having a 1mH will be an increase the inductor ripple to about 80% of Iout as compared to 30% of Iout with the 3.3mH.

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Hi

The design with 1mH inductor was created some time in July, it was also giving the same result earlier this year. The design produced started showing the 3.3mH in September.
