WEBENCH® Tools/TPS543C20: WEBENCH design with Vout lower 1V

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

According my check, we can't create design by WEBENCH when Vout setting is lower 1V and it is the value which we can't select by VSEL pin.

For example, Vout is 0.975V or 0.72V etc...

I think we can design with these output voltage by using feedback resistor.

Would you improve WEBENCH to support full Vout range?

Hi Kohei Sasaki-san,,

You should be able to create designs lower than 1V but the caveat is that the Vref option (see image below) has to be lower than the desired voltage

Yes, I know that we can create design lower than 1V. But it is the case only which VOUT setting value matches VREF listed value. 0.6V, 0.7V, 0.75V.......

I think We can't create design when VOUT setting value is not on VREF table. Foe example, 0.975V, 0.82V and so on.

Is it possible?

Ok I see what you are saying. If I remember correctly, this was a limitation in the WEBENCH model. Let me take deeper look and see if we can remove this limit.

Hi Kohei Sasaki-san,

The issue you described is a current limitation with the model. The real device should work as you mentioned by using feedback resistors.

Kohei-san,

We have updated the TPS543C20 model. You can now design with Vout values lower than 1V and the tool will use feedback resistors where necessary. You can also update the Vref using the dropdown menu to match your requirements. Hope this helps.
