I can only get my DLP LightCrafter 9000 EVM to activate half the DMD when using DisplayPort.

Try using dual pixel mode instead of single pixel mode. Single pixel mode loads one pixel per clock to the DMD and dual pixel mode load two pixels per clock to the DMD.
