Hello,
Please I would like to control the individual mirrors in code so as to generate multiple beam patterns. I would be glad if you could share ideas with me.
Thanks

Hello Michael,
There are two evaluation modules (EVMs) for the DLP2010 DMD. There is the DLP® 2010 Light Control Evaluation Module and the DLP® LightCrafter™ Display 2010 Evaluation Module. The LightCrafter EVM is intended as a development platform for video applications. The Light Control EVM is intended as a development platform for both video and light control (structured light, 3D printing, etc.) applications. It sounds like the light control platform may be most useful to you.
If you would like please detail your use case and I'd be happy to provide further suggestions.
Thanks,
Kyle
Hello Michael,
It depends on your application and what's best for your control. You can see more information in the EVM user's guide and the GUI user's guide. Essentially you control the mirrors by sending an image. This can be done via an external video interface (such as HDMI) or it can be done by loading specific types of patterns in the flash and then sending them (via the GUI or I2C commands). In essence, the GUI just sends I2C commands. These could be replicated in your own code if you desired to do so.
Thanks,
Kyle
Hello Kyle,
I have gone through the user guides you suggested and they have been helpful. A quick question. Are the micromirrors user addressable? For instance the DLP2010 has 854 x 480 micromirrors. Supposing I need to change the state of the micromirror located in column 10 and row 2 from (+17 degrees to -17 degrees), is there an I2C command for that? If there is, could you point me to the documentation or provide an illustration?
Thanks,
Michael
