DLP4500: 3D scanning trouble, must reload anytime the firmware, why?

Part Number: DLP4500
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Need Help.
3D scanning demo as compiled and downloaded by TI (it happens the same problem on Win10 , Win7, with firmware   3.1.1  or 4.0.3) :

after upload firmware (Menu entry :2) the processing goes well. When I do calibration the DLP projects a white and clean image.

If I exit and reenter into application when we try to calibrate camera, for a while flashes white image,  then pattern become multicolor,  and the diagnostics said : connection lost, seems projector crash

if after (menu 9)  reconnect the DLP theimage still remain multicolor. I quit.

I run the bench  DLP GUI:
the status after connection is  : Seq. Running , Init done, Green : Buffer freeze : orange : other off, video mode checked

restart the 3d scanning and doesn't run well appears again multicolor projection , and sometimes crashes all! :)

I don't know what I can do...
It seems a to moch big defect , there must be something wrong , but simple.

Ercole

  • Hi Ercole,
Are you facing the issue recently? or is the problem developed out of the box?
    Regards,
    Sanjeev
  • Thank you for reply.

The problem appears as we start to deal with DLP4500 and scan 3D trials .

The problem occour every time we restart application or we reconnect by (menu 9) the DLP, it happens both original compiled by TI , our compiled version.
In my mind, seems as the firmaware was in anymode corrupted. Any important information, (I suppose):  when restart the DPL 4500 after this trouble, the first pattern/image showed is
this one "dlp_sdk_lcr4500_dlpc350_prepared.bin.flash_image_0.bmp", and it is showed anyway, after turn on,  also when I try to calibrate camera with the application, and ,as you know, it should be completely white.

Help, Help ,Help , I can't go foreward.

    Regards

    Ercole

  • Hi Ercole,
To isolate the issue, i would recommend, not connecting to the hardware via DLP 3D scanner application.
    Also please answer if
    1) The issue appeared out of the box or developed over the time of usage of the hardware.
    2) Also when you reboot and connect via LightCrafter 4500 GUI, is it possible to change different modes.
