Good Day,

     Is there any I2C command to switch between DSI Input and Parallel Input for DLPC3430?

     I do not find the command in "DLPC3430, DLPC3432, DLPC3433, DLPC3435 and DLPC3438 Software Programmer's Guide".

    Also I do not find commands to setup DSI interface in the document.

    Hi Pandy,

    Could you please confirm what firmware version you are using and what hardware you are using? Is this a custom board of yours? We are planning to add these commands to a future version of the programmer's guide but we can probably get you the needed commands now after we confirm the above questions.

    Hi Kyle,

        Thanks for the quick answer. We are still in design stage for a pico projector product using our own hardware design, where one source of video is from AP while the other is from other external sources (ideally through the additional DSI interface on DLPC3430, otherwise we would have to add additional chip for switching the source externally and of cause DLPC3435 is enough). When I was reading the programming guide, 'DSI‘ is mentioned, but commands for that are missing. I was wandering if we could get the commands. It would be appreciated to know if other customers have used this kind of architecture before.

    Hi Kyle,

        I have not got an firmware yet ( I assume the firmware could be fetched from TI, am I right?). Hence I do not have the firmware version information yet.

    Hi Kyle, 

        We do not have the hardware yet, but we do have a plan to have the first prototype hardware ready in 2 months. However before we even finalize the schematic design, we need to understand the feasibility for the architecture described above.

    Hi Pandy,

    Yes, when you are ready you can let us know what your exact controller + PMIC + DMD combination, and we can provide software. We have plans to update our programmer's guide with the DSI commands. If it is not updated before you have your hardware we will be able to provide them to you directly. 

    We have had many customers use a front end (often Qualcomm processor) to send DSI video to our controller. It usually takes a fair amount of tweaking the DSI timing parameters to get the DSI interface reliably initialized. After it's properly configured it should be easy to apply the configuration to all of your boards.
