DLPDLCR2000EVM: What is the approximate delay when transmitting video from the camera to the DLPDLCR2000EVM projector.

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC2607, DLP2000

Hi.

I would like to get information about the approximate delay on image 1.

  • Hi Yaroslav,

Thank you very much for your post! To clarify, you are requesting information on the delay from receiving data via the camera to displaying the image on the wall. Are you interested in a delay in milliseconds? Have you modified anything on the EVM?

    Thanks,

    Brandon

Yes, you are right. I would like to get the value of delay from the camera out to the wall.

Have you modified anything on the EVM? No, I only design the system.

Are you interested in a delay in milliseconds? Yes.

  • Also, I would like to get information about the  input lag

  • Hello Yaroslav,

The DLP2000EVM uses the DLPC2607 controller which accepts the parallel input and outputs it to the DLP2000 DMD. The input to output lag is 1 frame (so if you are using 60 Hz it will be about 16.67 ms delay). The rest of the delay in your path heavily depends on your camera and what type of processing you are doing on the BeagleBone. While the DLP2000EVM only introduces one frame of delay, the rest is dependent upon your system.

    Thanks,

    Kyle
