DLP4500: Need help about pattern settings for camera capture

Part Number: DLP4500
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Hi E2E,

I meet  a problem about pattern dispaly from flash: I add 11 images,and want to display them in cycle. I use TRIG_OUT_1 to trigg camera,but the captured image is abnormal like part of previse image together with current image or just part of one image like below:

Figure1: should be "2",but just part.

Figure 2: should be just "3" ,but merged with part of "2"

The configuration is like below:

1、Period 8333us, Exposure 8333us;

2、Internal trigger mode;

3、Global camera with pulse width exposure trigged by TRIG_OUT_1;

4、pattern setting is like below figure 3;

Could help me to check if any solution for my application?

I want to project a sequence of image and captured with a camera.

  • Hello,

    Could you please also share the original image "2" and image "3"? If you could also detail how they were uploaded that would help.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Hi,

    Kindly note that the processor inside the DLPC350 takes some time to load the images from the flash memory to internal 2 sided ping pong buffer. While one side of the buffer is being used for display, the other side is loaded. So, if the sum of the pattern periods of all patterns from 1 image is less than this load time, the next image will get corrupted. You can get to know this load time by going to the "Image Load TIming" Tab > Get Image Load Time multiple times. You should set a pattern period > (The worst case image load time + some margin). This way the corruption issue can be fixed. Hope this helps,

    Thanks & Regards,
    Hirak.

  • Hi Hirak,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have test as your suggestion,it's exactly the problem of load time .

    Thanks again.
