Does any one have experience on Basler USB camera external trigger (from EVM trigger 1 out) coding? Could you please lend me a hand?
I follow the instruction on Basler manual but fail to trigger the camera to grab images (patterns). Below is my setting:
Camera model aca1920-150UC (USB camera)Camera.TriggerSelector.SetValue( TriggerSelector_FrameStart );Camera.TriggerMode.SetValue( TriggerMode_On );Camera.TriggerSource.SetValue ( TriggerSource_Line1 );Camera.TriggerActivation.SetValue( TriggerActivation_RisingEdge );Camera.TriggerDelay.SetValue(0);Camera.ExposureMode.SetValue( ExposureMode_Timed );Camera.ExposureTime.SetValue( 8000.0 );Camera.AcquisitionStart.Execute( );What shall I do next?
Thank you in advance!
Are you connecting your camera input to the EVM trigger output? What is the voltage level of the camera? I do not think we have personally used this camera before.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.

In reply to Kyle Rakos:
I connect EVM trigger 1 (pin4) and ground (pin1) to Basler USB camera GPIO Opto-Isolated input - Line1. The voltage shall be ok because camera accepts 3.3 to 30v.
I know EVM output can be set to 5V, can't it?
In reply to Derlin Chow:
Ops, J7 can only set trigger voltage to 3.3 or 1.8V. But I think 3.3v is ok because when I use Basler App (GUI viewer) I can see the camera is grabbing images. Just don't know how to grab the images using c++ code.
Another question, if I want to use trigger in to start pattern projection. Shall I use I2C command to set it up? How shall I do it?
Is J8 of my EVM is set to accept output trigger or display? I am not sure how you define the pin number.
If I set the jumper correct, I can send a trigger signal to start the pattern projection?
Yes you need to setup the J8 and J9 jumper to setup the trigger in on 3DR pin as mentioned in the user guide page no.10 : http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu079a/dlpu079a.pdf
In reply to Navneet Singh:
Hi Kyle and Navneet,
I am able to use EVM trigger 2 out to sync with my Basler camera. Thank you!
I also want to try trigger in of EVM to project patterns, it seems like the current jumper setting (out of box) is for "trigger in". Am I correct? The board does not mark the pin number.
I am not sure what default configuration comes out of box. You can check at the bottom, pin 1 would be different from pin 2 and pin 3 (pin 1 has the square mark, pin2 and pin3 has circular).
I hope this helps.
Yes, you are right, pin1 had square mark. My EVM is set to "trigger in" mode.
