DLPLCR4500EVM: Windows does not recognize device

Hello,

I inadvertently shorted the board while moving the DLPLCR4500EVM. Windows no longer recognizes the device and the D4 LED is no longer on or blinking. I am working on reflashing the firmware for the DLPC350 per previous threads. Are there any other steps I can take that may get the board running? If the DLPC350 is damaged is it possible to obtain a replacement board? I don't have the tools necessary to solder a new DLPC350.

Hi Dillon,

What did you specifically short? Do you see any physical damages on any part of the board/chip/passive components?

Thank you for getting back to me. A cable touched the bottom of the the board. I can't find any physical damage on the board or its components. The power supply and the 3.3 V pins on the fan and red LED seem to be fine. The fan and the light engine's LEDs turn on and die when the power supply is plugged in. There is a green LED under the board near the DMD ribbon cable that remains on. I have tried reflashing the DLPC350 only to recieve, "No Device found. Please check the board power, USB/LPT port and JTAG connections".

Edit: On further inspection I did find damage to one capacitor similar to https://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp/f/94/t/743530?DLPLCR4500EVM-short-circuit-happened-after-testing-triggering-function.

Thanks for your update on the issue. I recommend you identify which components are tied to this capacitor, as they may be damaged as well. Depending on what is damaged you may or may not be able to repair the system.
