DLPC120-Q1: DLPC120 HDMI Driver

Part Number: DLPC120-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3030Q1EVM

Hi:

I connect DLPC120 with HDMI and I need to set DLPC display parameter like this:

Preferred Detailed Timing:

         Pixel Clock :                                    30.24 Mhz

         Horizontal Active :                           854 pixels

         Horizontal Blanking :                       96 pixels

Horizontal Sync Offset :                  40 pixels

Horizontal Sync Pulse Width :         16 pixels

         Horizontal Border :                          0 pixels

         Horizontal Size :                              518 mm

         Vertical Active :                               480 lines

         Vertical Blanking :                           51 lines

Vertical Sync Offset :                       10 lines

Vertical Sync Pulse Width :             2 lines

         Vertical Border :                              0 lines

         Vertical Size :                                  324 mm

         Input Type :                                     Digital Separate

         Interlaced :                                      False

         VerticalPolarity :                              True

         HorizontalPolarity :                          True

I set HDMI output frequency to 31Mhz,but there is no image.

How to set the output frequency of HDMI? Any other Suggestion? Thanks

  • Hello,

Can you please clarify how you are connecting to the DLPC120-Q1? Are you using the DLP3030Q1EVM? If so the HDMI timings should already be provided by the EDID.

What are you outputting video from? Typically a PC or video source will read the video timings and set up the source correctly, but not all HDMI sources will do this.

Where did you get these video timings from? The sync pulse widths and sync offsets seem too high.  Have you tried the timings provided in the DLPC120-Q1 datasheet? Please see section 6.9 of the datasheet below for more information.

Please let me know if this helps.

  • Thanks for your reply,Jackson.

I use IMX6 development board to connect DLPC120 with HDMI,video source also come from IMX6. I don't use DLP3030Q1EVM and I'll show you the part of DLP1C20 schematic

There is a SII1161CTU between HDMI interface and DLPC120.

I get those video timings from connecting DLPC120 board to my laptop. It works fine when I connect DLPC120 board to my laptop with HDMI,but can't work when I connect to IMX6 development board on Linux. Failed to read EDIE form Linux, warning read EDID again.

  • Hello,

Did you program your own EDID flash? It seems that whatever is stored in the EDID is working because it will connect from the PC. It seems the error is coming from the HDMI handshake between the IMX6 and the DVI receiver.

Are you statically programming the output display timings of the processor? If so, try these, it is what we use in our EVM.

    Pix Clock: 27 MHz

    Horizontal Active Pixels: 864 pixels

    Horizontal Blanking: 36 pixels

    Horizontal Front Porch: 12 pixels

    Horizontal Sync width: 12 pixels

    Vertical Active Lines: 480 pixels

    Vertical blanking: 20 pixels

    Vertical front porch: 8 pixels

    Vertical Sync width: 4 pixels

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Jackson
