DLPDLCR2000EVM: Would like to find longer FPC connector cable for this projector!

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM

I am a happy user of multiple DLPDLCR2000EVMs, but I'd like to make (read: buy) a long flex cable for the FPC connections between the DLP optical engine and the TI EVM PCB. The shielded cable that is provided is very nice, but it is very short. I would like to get a cable about 100mm long.

I looked at making a cable myself, but even just finding a 50-pin, 2-way, 0.5mm pitch FPC connector with the correct key-way to match the PCB/DLP seems to be a losing battle.

Any help gratefully received!

Also you may check with Young Optics Incorporated, as this optical engine in the EVM is developed and manufactured by Young Optics Incorporated.

Hi Navneet,

Like Trevor above, I am a user of DLPDLCR2000EVM whowould like to make/buy a longer flex cable, and who has not been able to find the proper connectors to create it.

This issue is marked as "TI thinks it's resolved" but the information about the connectors and or cable is missing.

Would it be possible to add a part number for the connectors on the cable?

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

I do not believe Young Optics provides any alternative flex cables for this part. As for the connectors that are used with the flex cables, they are listed in the BOM of the associated reference design for this part. More specifically, you are looking at the part linked here:
