DLPNIRNANOEVM: How to install DLP program on MacBook

Part Number: DLPNIRNANOEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC150

Hello. TI

I am research student at Konkuk Univ in South Korea.

I am trying to use DLP NIR NANO EVM products in our medical engineering lab.

We usually use Windows, so we are not familiar with Mac OS.

Could you tell me how to install the DLP program on my MacBook and what files I need?

  • Hi Geonho,

Welcome to TI E2E Forums! Kindly provide us some time to look at your query. We'll get back soon!

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.

  • Hi Hirak,

    Thank you for your answer.

okay, I will be waiting for reply.

Thank you. Have a nice day.

    Geonho.

  • Hi Geonho,

We are sorry to inform you that the NIRscan Nano GUI is not officially supported by TI for Mac systems. That being said, the NIRScan Nano GUI is built with QT and it may be possible to compile the GUI C++ project on Mac also. But the user must on his own take care of any dependencies/drivers that may not work on Mac systems.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.

  • Hi Hirak

    I'm very sorry.

I once inquired about a scan error on a DLPNIRNANOEVM instrument. But that didn't work out

My lab has a new DLPNIRNANOEVM instrument and a new one (two in total).

If you run a program in Windows, can you tell me which versions of the program are most compatible? (TIVA, DLPC, GUI, Labrary)

And when I connect the device to the PC (power supply and data transfer), I only use one USB port. Do I need to connect the power supply port separately?

I have to use this device to conduct my master's theme experiment and graduate this year. I have a new product DLPNIRNANOEVM, so I would be grateful if you could tell me how to install the program, how to connect and run it.

    Sorry to bother you.

    Thank you.

    Geonho.

  • Hi Geonho,

Kindly find the answers to your queries below:

    1. If you run a program in Windows, can you tell me which versions of the program are most compatible? (TIVA, DLPC, GUI, Labrary)

A> You should use the latest versions available for each component i.e., DLPC150 FW v2.2.0, NIRScan Nano TIVA FW v2.1.0 and NIRScan Nano GUI v2.1.0. Each of this versions are available on TI.com NIRScan Nano page.

    2. And when I connect the device to the PC (power supply and data transfer), I only use one USB port. Do I need to connect the power supply port separately?

A> You don't need a separate power supply. USB connection between PC & NIRScan Nano should be enough for power and data. If you are connecting NIRScan Nano USB through a hub, kindly make sure that the hub is an active one (externally powered one).

    3. I have to use this device to conduct my master's theme experiment and graduate this year. I have a new product DLPNIRNANOEVM, so I would be grateful if you could tell me how to install the program, how to connect and run it.

A> Kindly look at the NIRScan Nano User Guide which explains how to get started with and use the NIRscan Nano.
