DLP4500NIR: Mounting solution and control facillity

Part Number: DLP4500NIR

Dear technical staff,

I am interested to buy a DMD to develop a single pixel imaging set-up in my optics laboratory. I would like to know whether you know of mounting facilities compatible with Thorlabs equipments for this DMD.

Also, I would like to know whether you provide informatic tools to control the DMD, allowing to change the pattern (binary) ?

I apologize in advance for the very generic questions I am asking here,

Best regards,

Adrien

  • Adrien,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

In terms of software, you should check out the DLP4500NIR Nirscan software bundle (at www.ti.com/.../DLPNIRSCANEVM), which may provide the pattern control you are looking for. Please note that the 4500NIR device is intended for spectroscopy applications (NIR wavelength). You should checkout the DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM for general light control applications:
    www.ti.com/.../DLPLCR4500EVM

As for mounting facilities, have you checked out our TI Design Network? This may provide connections to help you get in touch with the right groups for this.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Philippe Dollo
  • Philippe,

I am contacting TI Design Network now to have more infos about optical integration of the DMD. The application I am targeting is closer to single pixel imaging in the NIR wavelength (700 - 1500 nm mostly) domain than to light projection, so I thought that an NIR DMD was a good option, am I correct ? Would the NIrscan software also do for such application ?

    Thanks for your help,

    Adrien Bercegol
  • Hi Adrien,
You may want to review to the "DLP® Series-310 DMD and System Mounting Concepts" (www.ti.com/.../dlpa041.pdf ) application note. This paper may be of help.

    Regards,
    Vivek
