DLP5500: How to turn mirrors on and off

Part Number: DLP5500

Hello,

We are interested in turning mirrors on and off on our DMD advice. Does white not mean the mirrors are on and black mean the mirrors are off? If the mirrors are off, shouldn't our image be reflected elsewhere? Please let us know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Best,

Duc-Quy Nguyen

  • Hello Duc-Quy,

You are exactly correct.  In a conventional projection system "on" refers to pixels whose light is reflected out the projection lens and "off" pixels light is reflected to a light dump. In a projector this is usually a black surface with a heat sink, often with angles such that the light that bounces around the dump and not scattered back into the system.
